Day of the Dead Festival

You'll be living for it

Día de Los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is a holiday that's as important to Mexicans as Halloween is for Americans. A mashup of pre-Hispanic and modern traditions, the celebration honors the ancestors and traditions of Mexico. It also inspires a huge parade and costume party filled with sugar skulls and sexy skeletons in the country's capital every year. While the traditional events take place November 1 and 2, make sure you book your stay to include the parties taking place at the end of October.
