El Viena (Closed Permanently)

(2 Ratings)
The city's only gay cantina
If the Euroclub scene is not really your thing and you want something with more macho Mexican flair, this cantina offers a wide selection of beer and good tequila. Have a few drinks here before heading to Oasis, located right next door.

Very Fun Place, No Attitude

I love Viena. It is my favorite bar in Mexico City (DF). The heading here is a little misleading. They do have tequila but most people here drink beer, probably 80% or so from my observations. This place has no attitude. It is downtown about three blocks from Bellas Artes and opens early. I love the juke box here; if you are a fan of older Latin music the selection is a treasure. Don't expect the stylistas and attitude one finds at Living or some of the other Zona Rosa places but expect friendly service, good prices and good, good looking men from time to time. This place is well worth a visit.
